| | | Did you know that April 19-25 is National Library Week? Libraries remain one of the few free, third spaces in our communities, offering so much more than just books. This week, we celebrate the incredible impact libraries, librarians, and library staff have in shaping lives and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
We’d love to hear why your local library matters to you. Share your thoughts HERE, and your comments could be featured in an upcoming newsletter or library publication. And if you'd like to celebrate National Library Week early by supporting the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, donate today! |

| | | In partnership with the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation, join us for a curated screening and discussion of three short-films: Fighting For Family, The Healing Circle, and Kalinga (Care).
Each film offers a distinct perspective on themes such as immigration, belonging, and community. Together, these powerful films reflect many of the ideas explored in this year’s One Book, One Philadelphia selection, Our Missing Hearts.
Thursday, April 23 from 6:30pm-7:30pm Parkway Central Library, Montgomery Auditorium |

The Free Library is one of the most important educational and cultural institutions in Philadelphia. While the City of Philadelphia provides public funds for the operations of the Free Library, it is through the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation and the generosity of private funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations that the Free Library is able to offer many of the Library’s incredible programs and activities that advance literacy, guide learning, inspire curiosity throughout the region, and help deliver on the promise of an equitable future for all of Philadelphia’s children, families, and communities. |
