There's so much happening at the Free Library this summer that you'll never run out of things to do. Whether you're looking to beat the heat, discover your next great read, or enjoy a free program, one of our 54 neighborhood libraries is the perfect place to spend a summer day. Read on to discover some of the exciting things happening this month!

Exhibition Highlight

The Free Library's Special Collections department has a new exhibition, Philadelphia For The People. On display in the Second Floor West Gallery of Parkway Central, this engaging exhibition explores the city's development throughout history and invites visitors to consider how Philadelphia can best serve its people in the future.

More to Explore in July

Visit Lawncrest Library for free summer lunches for children and teens up to age 18! Meals are available Monday-Friday from 1:00pm-2:00pm and must be eaten on-site. 

On Thursday, July 9 from 12:00pm-1:00pm, visit the Art Department at Parkway Central Library to see a variety of artwork made by Free Library staff members.

Visitors will get to tour the exhibit and hear the artists speak about their work. Mediums on display include woodburning, fiber arts, painting, sculpture, beading, jewelry, ceramics, printmaking, and more!

Join Fishtown Community Library on Friday, July 10 at 3:00pm for a Kid Rave! This outdoor dance party will feature lively music, dancing, and free lemonade from Shake Shack! 🎶
